Everything seems to start normal with powering up and the light for the hard drive, but screen stays black. Had the video card replaced a year or two ago, and in the past it does this if it's stuck in some type of sleep or energy saving mode. It's on a Toshiba A305-S6898 Harman/Kardon. Running Vista for an OS
Was wondering if anyone had any tips of how to get it going if it's something simple like a sleep/energy saving mode?
Thanks!

I had this happen a ton on some Thinkpads I used in the past. If you connect to a monitor or projector does the display work?

Thanks, that did it! I found the port for a different monitor, hooked it up and the other monitor started showing the Toshiba opening for a couple minutes, but then the Laptop monitor turned on again.
Must've been some weird sleep thing again. Thanks again, G.I.L.!

No problem.

Someone else I talked to mentioned that, I don't think those keys would've been hit, even by accident.
I just backed up my hard drive and documents, but I might just buy a new one soon and if it happens again I'll find an external to hook it up to.
