There's always initial excitement over major developments. It will settle down and even out. We'll see once the debates come how she can handle him. He's a loud mouth insult throwing manchild but is very adept at sidestepping questions. She on the other hand doesn't have much of a track record of leading anything. Everything she was put in charge of as VP was a dismal failure. so much so that she's been completely in the background the last year or so. She can only lean on her being a lawyer for so long/so much. Eventually you gotta have some leadership qualities and show you know how to run something.
