Minnesota taxpayers will benefit from the repeal of a 150 year old law that bans off-sale liquor in Minnesota on Sunday.. Governor Dayton is expected to sign it into law..
Every year border towns spend millions of dollars on Sunday going to neighboring states for an open liquor store.. Those tax dollars will now stay in Minnesota and also reduce drunk driving..

On Sunday people near the border too often drink in bars and then drive home.. They will now be able to save money going to the liquor store and drinking at home..
Also a possibility of less accidents and deaths..

^^ I guess what I'm saying is that if you haven't planned your weekend and you need to drink that bad that maybe there's a problem.

It's about time we get rid of these stupid religion based laws like this one. I'm not a big drinker but every now and then I want a drink. If I want to partake some crown n coke on a Sunday I should be able to drive to my favorite liquor store and grab a bottle. This stupid thought that people will drink more on Sundays is ludicrous.

Back when I lived in the Twin-cities area I made the trip across the river on 94 to Hudson WI., they've had Sunday sales forever.
Why not keep the business and tax dollars in Minnesota...

If you feel that way, why not have the grocery stores sell 24 hours.

So you're fine with Hyvee and Kwik Trip selling liquor 24/7? Just getting the score set here. So mom & pop stores wouldn't be forced to open on Sunday if they didn't want to? Seems to me they'd lose a lot of foot traffic business to the bigger stores and not only on Sunday yet if they stay open not enough business to cover overhead.
So you're all fine with bigger businesses taking over.
