Dear Pat Robertson, I know that you know that all press is good press, so I appreciate the shout-out. And you make God look like a big mean bully who kicks people when they are down, so I'm all over that action. But when you say that Haiti has made a pact with me, it is totally humiliating. I may be evil incarnate, but I'm no welcher. The way you put it, making a deal with me leaves folks desperate and impoverished. Sure, in the afterlife, but when I strike bargains with people, they first get something here on earth -- glamour, beauty, talent, wealth, fame, glory, a golden fiddle. Those Haitians have nothing, and I mean nothing. And that was before the earthquake. Haven't you seen "Crossroads"? Or "Damn Yankees"? If I had a thing going with Haiti, there'd be lots of banks, skyscrapers, SUVs, exclusive night clubs, Botox -- that kind of thing. An 80 percent poverty rate is so not my style. Nothing against it -- I'm just saying: Not how I roll. You're doing great work, Pat, and I don't want to clip your wings -- just, come on, you're making me look bad. And not the good kind of bad. Keep blaming God. That's working. But leave me out of it, please. Or we may need to renegotiate your own contract.

Why do y'all care what ol Pat says? 
I will go one step further, to bad that Haiti's half of the island didn't slide off in to the ocean and cease to exist.
Just like an over grown forest, sometimes a fire is needed to start things anew.

Did I know any of the 100,000+ victims? No.

They care because they are tolerant of all opinions that match theirs. I don't care for Pat Robertson, but I don't feel the need to ridicule him for his beliefs either.

GD wanted Haiti to completely disappear!
Pat said it was Haiti's fault for being sinners.
There were many thousands of volunteer aid workers in Haiti- most from Christian relief organizations - Worldvision, of whom I know many people personally was there too. They have all had casualties of the quake.
I guess Grinning Dragon wants all of them to go into the drink too.
Maybe that's the real divide. Compassion is only monetary and based on the return.

By the way GD, you've made claims about being from NOLA - I assume you mean New Orleans (from your Vikings post). Didn't you guys get your ass[s kicked by a girl - Katrina?

If you consider yourself a Christian, you should care what Pat said. If no one speaks out against what he said, he will be seen as speaking for ALL Christians. Just as many see all muslims as evil because not enough of them are seen to speak out against what the extremists do and say.
Do you really want Pat to be seen as your spokesman? I know I don't.
Interesting that people cry intolerance over complaints about his statement when practically everything he says is intolerance for anyone who doesn't believe exactly what he does. Jew, Presbyterian, Catholic, Episcopalian, Methodist? You are the spirit of the Anti-Christ according to him. Funny how many people hang on his every word and spout his praises when they are often the very people he hates. Makes as much sense as blacks or Catholics (pre-1974) extolling the virtues of the KKK.

Well put, and I will step up to the plate here. I am a Christian, and although I believe that sometimes God metes out judgment, either for punishment or as a means to call us back to him - I also believe we should show mercy, as he has shown us mercy.
Pat Robertson missed the boat on this one. The same God who has shown him mercy and who loves him loves the Haitians as well. Letting them suffer and die without helping him mocks the very God he claims to serve.
