Does anyone know of a good carpet installer in the Albert Lea area? All I'm finding in a search is Home Depot

Dennis LaCore 448-3740

ditto. And reasonable. Posted by Tinker on Aug. 09 2007,9:05 pm
Had home depot here and when they stretched the carpet they hit the wall and knocked off a corner chunk of newly hung sheetrock. They are supposed to be fixing it next week. We'll see how that turns out. Otherwise, the job was okay. Posted by grassman on Aug. 09 2007,9:21 pm
Denny did our home a few years ago and did a great job!

I had Home Depot do the carpet in my home. When the crew showed up it was an older Hispanic male, and three young Hispanics. The older man told them what to do and they went to work. They worked fast and did a great job. I offered them a few drinks, which they turned down. They came to work. The best part was they came in a POS van, which had a bumper sticker that said “leftover Salmon” on it. I did a Google search on Leftover Salmon, turned out to be a great band. Hahaha...the same people you want to ship out and criminalize! I wish they knew who they were working for...

That is an assumption on your part. Posted by bianca on Aug. 10 2007,7:45 am
Sorry guys but Dennis Lacore did a terrible job on my carpet a few years back. He used the double-sided tape to tape down the carpet on my wood floor and there were big ripples in the carpet. (usually carpets get stretched so this doesn't happen, but he thought it would be best to use this tape) Before he left I told him those ripples didn't look right, these were very noticeable ripples, and he said that they would lay down eventually. I waited a couple of weeks and called him again and said that the carpet still had the ripples in it, he said he could come out and fix it but I would have to pay him for his time. What?!!! Needless to say, he wasn't back at my house. I know Floorcrafters used to have a list of carpet installers, maybe you could get a couple of names from them. I've used Home Depot before also, when they had the free installation with purchase promo going on, and at that time they contracted with a Rochester company and did a good job. Good luck in your search, I know they are hard to find. Posted by hmmmnoidea on Aug. 10 2007,10:06 am

Thanks for all of the replys. I'm actually doing more of a market research, not looking for my own work done. These names, numbers and comments help a lot, thanks again!

We recently had work done by CarpetOne in Medford and had great results. Nice show room and nice people to work with.

Denny LaCore is a terrible installer. If you wanted to get high he could probably help you out though. I would definitely call Kent Karsjens 383-0708.

I have had Denny do work for me and I have never had a problem. It's not a damn personality contest.

Had Denny install my carpets. Totally made me think of Tommy Cheech in looks and personality. Temporary memory loss is rampant with this guy. I wonder why? LOL:p

LOL ^ This is sooo not very nice, so close your ears and eyes mamma, but to me he reminded me of Charles Manson but I didn't want to say that. I guess you opened the door A2B and I couldn't help myself My disclaimer is that I did hire him and I personally didn't care for his work but apparently some do. I just couldn't believe he botched a totally square room and then had the audacity to ask for more money to fix "his" mistake. Posted by This is my real name on Aug. 16 2007,6:46 am
Who is Tommy Cheech? Posted by ICU812 on Aug. 16 2007,7:33 am
He's the one that went to Mexico for a week, a day, no a weekday. Posted by TameThaTane on Aug. 17 2007,8:16 am
It's Tommy Chong and Cheech Marin. Who's smoking what?
