Saw this whilst sipping coffee this morning.I hope Mainers (yes I had to DuckDuckGo that) pass this.
I hope it gets challenged to SCOTUS and I hope they do the right thing and end this unlimited corporate donations to super pacs and end this obvious quid pro quo that has been going on. Well, at least make it less obvious and it least hamper the amount of money floating around.

Supreme Court decision overturned century-old campaign finance restrictions and enabled unlimited spending by corporations and outside groups....
Citizens United changed elections, created super PACs, and increased dark money in U.S. politics....

I'm not a constitutional scholar by any means, but there is letter of the law and spirit of the law. I don't see how any judge, regardless of political leanings cannot see that unlimited money from corporations inevitably leads to quid pro quo. Hell Trump himself said in a speech that "I love electric, I have to, Elon donated to my campaign"Embedded twitter video of the comment in this article

^^ Citizens United is a Conservative Political Organization, they pushed their unlimited Corporate or Individual and Super Pac (AKA Dark Money) through the Supreme Court, in 2010 I believe..it's said Ginni Thomas is a co-founder... You're batting for the wrong team GIL

Yes Citizen united was a conservative group that got this stupid ruling, but if you think only conservative groups are using it to their benefit that's a grave mistake.Both sides are putting billions of dollars into super pacs in the name of their chosen corporations.
My point it is, get the fucking money away from corporations being able to dump endless money into a politician.

Donald Trump is a convicted criminal who stole money from a children’s cancer charity and scammed students out of millions of dollars. He tried to end American democracy by force. Like Hitler justifying the Holocaust, he claimed some Americans are genetically inferior. And he’s a whisker away from the presidency.
How is this even possible?
